Moving families: An analytic approach of working through conflicts in family therapy with the contribution of Dance Movement Psychotherapy practice.
CPD workshop (7 hours)
This 7 hours CPD workshop attempts to introduce participants in family therapy with the use of dance movement psychotherapy techniques. It is an integration of analytic family therapy, Laban movement analysis, non-verbal communication, and dance movement psychotherapy theory and practice. There will be a particular focus on families with play-age children.
The workshop includes a theoretical and an experiential part where participants will be asked to participate actively.

Dimitrios Zachos ( http://dimitrioszaxos.com/dimitrios-zachos/ ) completed his Master degree in Dance Movement Psychotherapy at City University – Laban Centre for Movement and Dance (London, UK), in 1995. Also, he completed a 5 years psychoanalytic training in group Analysis & family Therapy. The last 20 years he’s been working in Greece, in private practice as well as at psychiatric institutions and special schools. His therapeutic approach is a psychoanalytic / psychodynamic one. Currently, he works mainly in private practice and he sees his clients individually as well as in groups. He also works with families where he encourages all the family members to be involved in play, movement interaction and symbolic expression. Since 1999, he has been running annually, a foundation course in Dance Movement Psychotherapy, a movement observation and analysis course (Laban, kestenberg, Davis) as well as a training course on Veronica Sherborne’s developmental movement experiences for children, in Greece. He also offer supervision to dance movement therapists, arts therapists, psychoanalytic psychotherapists and family therapists who want to integrate some DMT techniques in their practice. Furthermore, he is visitor lecturer at University of Derby, UK (Master course in Dance Movement Psychotherapy), faculty member of the Inspirees Institute for Creative Arts Therapy, China and the CPD training programme in Dance Movement Psychotherapy in Bucharest, Romania. He is a full member of the Group Analytic Society, London, UK and the Hellenic Society of Group Analysis & Family Therapy
