DANCE MOVEMENT PSYCHOTHERAPY / GROUP & FAMILY ANALYSIS IN GREECE
This web site is about inner change, personal growth and development of interpersonal relations. As a Dance Movement Psychotherapist and a Group & Family Analyst for almost 20 years I have worked in private practice as well as psychiatric institutions and special schools.
My therapeutic approach is a psychoanalytic one and uses the creative art of dance and movement in combination with verbal expression.
Currently, I work mainly in private practice and I see my clients individually as well as in groups. I work adults and children as well as with families where I encourage all the family members to be involved in play, movement interaction and symbolic expression.
In addition, I run two groups of psychiatric patients (in-patient & out-patient) at FEPSY psychiatric institution in Lamia, Greece.
Since 1999, I have been running annually, a foundation course in Dance Movement Psychotherapy, a movement observation and analysis course (Laban, kestenberg, Davis) as well as a training course on Veronica Sherborne’s developmental movement experiences for children. Many of my former students have completed their masters degree and work as Dance Movement Psychotherapists in Greece as well as in UK.
I also offer supervision to dance movement therapists, arts therapists, psychoanalytic psychotherapists and family therapists who want to integrate some DMT techniques in their practice.
INTENSIVE COUPLES THERAPY RETREATS
I run a highly successful couples therapy retreat in the beautiful Greek island of Skiathos. Within a distance of 1, 2km away from the beautiful sandy beach of Megali Ammos and of 1, 5km away from the center of Skiathos town, Skiathos Garden Cottages is a complex of four detached, autonomous cottage buildings amphitheatrically situated on an ever-green hillside. All have a spectacular panoramic sea-view and absolute privacy.
You will have the unique opportunity to escape from the everyday life routine relaxing in one of the most beautiful islands of the Aegean sea and work intensively with an experienced practitioner whether you want to improve the quality of your relationship or you have some more specific problems with your relationship.
The therapeutic program is based on a model of brief couple psychotherapy psychoanalytically and psycho dynamically oriented. I will emphasis on finding a central issue or focus and set specific goals.
You will stay seven nights and you will have two one-hour individual sessions everyday in a private place in one of the cottages. In addition, each member of the couple will have a one to one session with the therapist the day of arrival. Also, the program is flexible enough in order to allow your specific needs to go first.
The price for each couple is 1300 € - 1450€ depending on the date of arrival and includes:

Transportation to the town of Skiathos every hour
Approx. 15 couple therapy sessions and two individual sessions

FOUNDATION COURSE IN DANCE MOVEMENT PSYCHOTHERAPY
Monday the 16th of July to Sunday the 22nd of July, 2012
The aim of this course is to familiarize students with the basic concepts of the theory and practice of Dance Movement Psychotherapy. Students will be involved in theoretical seminars as well as experiential workshops and they will have the opportunity to connect theoretical components with their own experience in the group.
The course structure covers the basics on
• Theory and history of dance movement therapy
• Movement observation and analysis (Laban, kestenberg etc)
• Dance Movement Therapy with different populations (theoretical and video presentation)
• Group dynamics
• Experiential group
Student will be asked to keep a log book to record their experience which they will present at the final class.
Date: Monday the 16th of July to Sunday the 22nd of July, 2012
Time: Classes start at 9:30am and finish at 3:30pm.
