PHD IN EXPRESSIVE THERAPIES ACADEMIC POSITION
Job Description:
The Expressive Therapies Division of Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts invites applicants to apply for a full-time position in the Expressive Therapy program. This position is a 10-month assignment with responsibilities in the PhD and MA programs. Reporting to the Division Director, the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor will teach courses, advise students, and sustain an academic program of study, and participate in university citizenship.
Requirements:
Applicants must have at least five years of appropriate arts therapy credentials, graduate teaching experience in expressive arts therapy; demonstrated scholarship in the area of expressive arts therapy; and clinical practice experience in expressive arts therapy. A doctorate in expressive arts therapy or related field is also required. Rank is commensurate with experience.

Laban again in Bratislava – Application of movement studies in dance, theatre and therapy

The conference is dedicated to 130th birth anniversary of Rudolf Laban, a reputable movement theoretician born in Bratislava. This conference is a follow-up to an earlier one called "Laban for 21st century" which was held in Bratislava in September 2006 (organized by "Bratislava in Movement" non-profit organization in collaboration with Laban/Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies, New York).
Part of LabanFest 2009 is a premier of dance theatre piece "Soft Edge" which will take part on December 13, 2009 in Municipal Theatre Hviezdoslav in Bratislava (co-organizer: Bratislava Cultural Center).
Conference mission
The mission of the conference is to establish the dialogue about the creative applications of Laban´s ideas in theory and practice in three disciplines – performing arts, dance pedagogy and dance movement therapy. Alike the purpose of the meeting of experts and professionals is the presentation of diverse possibilities of using movement as strong communication and healing medium, which is able effectively contribute to change of the quality of human life in relationship to actual problems of contemporary society.
Conference main goals
The conference aims to introduce Laban movement theories and principles to community of professionals in Slovakia who deal with movement within the disciplines of performing arts and dance movement therapy. The priority of the conference is to closely intertwine practical and theoretical applications.
The long-term goal of the conference is to actively motivate the development of the potential in Slovakia through collaboration with experts mainly from Europe and possibly from other parts of the world.
