Dimitrios Zachos completed his Master degree in Dance Movement Psychotherapy at City University – Laban Centre for Movement and Dance (London, UK), in 1995. Also, he has completed a 5 years psychoanalytic training in group Analysis & family Therapy (directed by Mr. M. Yosaphat), in Athens.

He has more than 25 years of clinical and educational experience in London and Greece. He has worked in various institutions and special schools in London and Greece as well as in private practice. The combination of creative movement expression and verbal and non-verbal communication with the psychoanalytic therapeutic approach is the main pillar of the therapeutic intervention whether it is on an individual or group level, and is addressed to children and adults as well as families or couples.

He is a clinical supervisor to dance movement psychotherapists, and more generally to therapists through the arts or psychotherapists who are interested in incorporating some elements of dance therapy into their therapeutic practice.

He has also been a visiting lecturer for a number of years at the University of Derby, England in the MA program in Dance Movement Psychotherapy, at the University of Ljubljana in the MA program in Arts Therapies, a member of the teaching staff of the Inspirees Institute for Creative Arts Therapy in China, the postgraduate educational program CPD training program for psychologists in Dance Movement Psychotherapy in Bucharest, Romania, partner of the “Friends Play” institute for people with Asperger syndrome in Paris, France and teacher in the training program of the Athens Psychiatric Hospital on group analysis.

He is also a full member of the Group Analytic Society, UK and a full and founding member of the Hellenic Society of Analytic Group & Family Psychotherapy.
